This project refers to the establishment of a fully integrated petroleum products storage terminal with a storage capacity of 300 million litres, plus jetty and link bridge, with 10 brand new self-propelled barges and tug boats. The steel tanks were prefabricated in Ukraine by Madesta AG (Suisse) and the barges were built in the Netherlands by Damen Shipyard. The terminal is equipped with a foam-supported firefighting system and all the necessary structural apparatuses.

All loading and discharge operations are automated and have off-site remote monitoring capabilities. Energy Culture’s role in the project is that of a lender’s engineer / technical adviser to the consortium of lenders that financed the project and also as a monitoring and coordination supervisor to oversee fifteen (15) different contractors, nominated to handle various segments of the project, with SGS as the Quality Assurance and Quality Control consultant. The project was funded by FCMB Bank & Wema Bank, with an equity injection from the Petrolex Group.
