This project refers to the conduct of a study of the Oil and Gas upstream industry to ascertain the extent of potential disparities between the demand and supply of in-country capacities/capabilities for major projects in Nigeria, citing actual capacities/capabilities available and the capacities/capabilities required by Shell Companies in Nigeria (SCiN), to deliver on their seven (7) major projects during the periods of 2019 – 2024, with consideration for projects that will be undertaken by other upstream operators, where such projects will likely be executed within the same timeframe.
The focus of the study was mainly to identify events, which could create constraints on delivery of projects and where the constraints relate to the shortfall in capacities/capabilities, then potential solutions that consider both specific projects and the broader industry were provided, with reflections made on the country at large.
